Walton on the Naze

A small coastal town which is located just to the north of Frinton On Sea and has a permanent population of around 6,000 people but being a seaside resort it attracts many visitors with the Naze, Pier and sandy beach being amongst the main attractions.

The Naze is a peninsula to the northern end of the town and is a headland separating the North Sea from the sheltered inland waters and marshland of Hamford Water. The Naze tower Is a sea mark to assist shipping and the cliffs are a Site of Special Scientific Interest as the base levels are of London Clay that date back around 54 million years.

The original pier was built in 1830 was one of the earliest built in the country and the current pier is now the third longest in the country.
