Wrabness is a hamlet of less than 70 dwellings established on highground approximately six miles west of Harwich. The land in the immediate vicinity of Wrabness rises as open countryside from the B1352 road where the ribbon of housing in Rectory and Station Road dominates the skyline.

Just to the East of the village, the large ancient woodland of Stour wood, provides an impressive wooded backdrop. This is a site of designated scientific interest. Both the village and the surrounding countryside are within the Stour Estuary Special Landscape Area which includes the most attractive coastal scenery in the country.
